“Writing has always been something of a passion for me over the years. Taking its form in the writing of sales detail for manuals and training purposes, articles on Real Estate and Thailand generically and cars, on occasions. However, my massive experience in life gives me the ability to add some real flavour to any topic. In particular, now that I have just qualified as a life coach, I hope to be doing much more for the personal development market place. So please, watch this space.”

Porsche 918 Spyder

Absolute Thai Magazine 16

Things are a changing in the motor world” and thankfully for the benefit of the environment. If you thought the world of hybrid cars was lifeless, boring and not worthy of the performance car market, then think again!

Top Motor Companies are now starting to use state of the art technology to produce Hybrid cars, combining both the internal combustion engine with one or more electric motors. Up until now these cars have been, (dare I say it) ugly, uninspiring and very costly.

Well, let me introduce you to the new Porsche 918 Spyder, certainly not ugly or uninspiring, but before you get your cheque book out, this beauty has a price ticket of £300,000. Well, 2 out of 3 can’t be bad and at least it’s a step in the right direction and who knows, in 5 years time we could all be driving one!!!

McLaren MP4-12C

Absolute Thai Magazine 15

It’s a year of change for McLaren, with the launch of their new MP4-12C supercar. Only the second road-legal car that McLaren have ever built, the first being the magnificent F1 back in 1993. The plan is to turn McLaren into a company that builds and sells high performance production cars, boldly moving from selling 100 at present to over 4000 annually over the next few years. That’s not to say they will be steering away from being the Formula One specialists that they are, but simply expanding their production business. Competing with the big boys like Ferrari, Porsche and Audi, isn’t going to be easy but if this up’s the game in the war of the supercars and helps to produce smarter, safer and faster cars, then I say “healthy competition is good”

Let me start by wishing you all a Happy New Year. Out with the old and in with the new.A new car, maybe!

In this, the first Absolute Thai magazine of 2010, we take a look at the Ferrari 458 Italia.“IT’S A FERRARI” – What more can I say.

No seriously, rumored to be called the F450 or F500, Ferrari finally settled on the F458, taking its name from its 4.5 liter V8 engine. This car is not only gifted in the looks
department but it’s also shockingly fast. In fact it’s rumored to be faster than the Enzo.

With Ferrari sales at an all time low over the past few years and most dealerships showing losses, as high as 30% in some cases, only time will tell if this latest Ferrari
masterpiece will help them regain much needed sales, placing them back on top of theSupercar league.

2010 Porsche 911 Turbo

Absolute Thai Magazine 13

After building 80,000 Turbos in six generations over the past 35 years, Porsche still found plenty to improve.

When the Porsche 911 Turbo was introduced in Europe 35 years ago, the company thought the market for the car would
be satiated after 500 units were sold. Now, after selling 80,000 examples spanning six generations of Turbos, Porsche is
making yet another round of improvements, halfway through the life of the current 997 model.
